News Flash - A Barbary Tail gets a mention on local radio..

I nearly choked on my banana to hear this blog being plugged on Michelle Rugeroni's brilliant morning show on Sunday mornings.  Its usually very quiet up here Sunday mornings so we all tune in and bop about to the tunes.  The tourists haven't got a clue.  Tune in every Sunday morning at 11.00 for 'the Ruge's' show.
She's talking about me, she has to be brilliant!

See the posts below to see why she's talking about me and feel free to leave a comment or two...

  1. Does "La Rouge" know this is a party political blog? And if she does, hmmm....

  2. La Rouge will know what you know and will make up her own mind as to what this is...

  3. I'm sure she will, she's an excellent broadcaster. The question is...knowing what I know, and leaving aside what might or might not be her own personal convictions, should she use the airwaves on a public broadcast service to promote a blog engaged in party political propaganda?

It's one to ponder as you laze your afternoons away at the Apes Den, staring at the sky through those blue-and-yellow tinted sunglasses.

  4. I ponder the following: What makes 'party political propaganda? You sound almost ominously eager to label this blog. True to say that I might be a fan of the current administration and rather disdainful of the main opposition party, but does that make this blog "party political propaganda?" Wouldn't that require some kind of official party endorsement? Who's going to endorse the opinion of a random ape whiling the evenings away?

  5. The thing about "party political propaganda" is that it often attempts to portray itself as anything but what it actually is. Nor, of course, does propaganda require any form of official endorsement. Such endorsement can be carried unofficially, or clandestinely.

Thus, the innocent, seemingly objective musings of an ape whiling his evenings away can surreptiously be turned, with typically Simian intelligence, into lavish praise for the current administration and/or cutting criticism of any and all opposition groups.

Far be it from me to wish to "label" this blog! I daresay that, in the fullness of time (if he has not done so already) the blogger himself will provide us with ample evidence of the aims and onjectives of this blog.

But I welcome it, and am grateful for the opportunity to lock stubbed tails...

  6. And therein lies the beauty of the blog. A Calpetano blog might be a good idea too. Perhaps even a head to head forum. Perhaps that would help the electorate understand the reasons why they may be voting at the next election as well as the reasons why they may need to reconsider. I believe that the one main criticism levelled at the current administration is one which could have and probably was levelled at all previous administrations. I shall deal with this in a future blog, suffice to say that any opposition party will exploit the convenience of said argument to varying degrees of success, and shamelessly so.

I believe battle lines are now drawn...

Well, to such an extent as an ape might be able to draw a line...
